Facebook is a popular social media site that has many functions and tools within the site. It will take you a while to find your way around this platform so take some time to explore Facebook.
It is important that you pay attention to what you put in your profile. People will go to your profile to find out who you are, what you do, who you help and what you have to offer them so be sure to include that information, a website URL, and a call to action. Do not give too much personal information in your profile.
Facebook
Facebook is a social media site that has many features so we will only cover the ones that aid in business. When you join Facebook you will become friends with people and you will invite them to be friends with you. I suggest that when you ask someone to be your friend that you include a message that tells them who you are and why you would like to be there friend.
Groups
Facebook has many opportunities to join groups that relate to your target coaching niche. There are tons of different groups on Facebook and you can find a group that has almost anything you can think of for a group theme. Join groups that have a purpose that relates to your target coaching niche and invite the group members to become your friend. Don't forget to include a message that lets them know you are in a group together and that is why you want to be their friend.
Once you are a member of the group be sure to contribute to the group by adding comments to discussions and starting discussions. You are there to help others by sharing your knowledge and offering information not just to sell. Be sure to be a resource to others in the group by helping them with issues they talk about in the group. Do not actively sell people on your products. When you are helpful and provide good information people will check you and your site out.
There will be many requests for you to join different groups so be sure to only join groups that are closely related to your target coaching niche and groups that will be filled with potential coaching clients.
Events
Facebook has an events feature that allows you to create an event and invite friends to the event. You will start getting event invitations as soon as you start collecting friends on Facebook. You may want to attend some of the events because you can attend some great teleclasses for free and learn through Facebook events.
You can also create your own events on Facebook and that is where your Facebook friends pay off. You can create an event like a teleseminar to kick off a new product and invite all of your Facebook friends to attend. If your event pertains to a subject matter that your friends are interested in then they will accept your invitation.
I create an event for every product launch and teleseminar or telecours that I have. You can invite your friends to attend a "preview" call for a product launch, a teleclass, or a telecourse. Create an opt-in page and ask the guests to register for the event so that you can send them a replay of the event after it is over.
Your event should offer valuable information that your target coaching niche is interested in. You should have information that they can act on immediately and it is the perfect time to introduce and entice them to take advantage of the product or service you are offering. Essentially they have opted in to your list because they were interested in the subject you are talking about and that means that they will logically have an interest in your products and services.
Facebook is a social media platform so be sure not to abuse it with too much promotion. Be a giver and share your coaching knowledge with your Facebook friends.
