    Looking to purchase 2020 Macbook Air i3 or i5. A number of reviewers
    point out the fact that even though the i5 seems better, it runs hotter
    (100C-no heat tube between the fan and heatsink) which makes the fans
    run at higher speeds and therefore is noisier compared to the i3. I am a
    little confused.

    I bought MacBook Air 2020 two days before and was so excited . But I am kind of disappointed with it.
    Lemme say the pros I felt:
    1. Its light(especially comparing it to my early 2015 MacBook Pro. PS: well its Air ,and it has to be light :P)
    2. The speakers are pretty good. Gave a surround system effect.
    3. Magic Keyboard is nice.

    Cons:
    1. Overheating : With just 10 mins of normal usage, ie, turning on my laptop for the first time and opening a few apps, the laptop started heating up. I thought maybe it's a first time issue. But after keeping it idle for an hour, I started using it again by playing a youtube videos. I couldn't keep it on my lap because of the heat.
    2. Camera quality : it's worse than my present 2015 MacBook Pro. It's so disappointing that after 5 years when you want to have a new laptop from the same company, you end up getting something worse. With the present scenario, where people are heavily using video calls and conferences, Apple has forgot to upgrade their camera. Come on Apple, how much does it cost to improve camera??

    I am not sure whether anyone has felt this heating issue. Did find a few articles on net commenting on the same problem though. Anyways I am going to return this. I am so used to MacOS, I don't feel like changing back to Windows. I will wait for the next Air hoping to see a better performance.

    I would have no problem paying 100 Euro extra for the i5 but here in Ireland it is 300 Euro extra for that!!?

    Hey chaps - hope you like the video! Reckon you'd buy a new MBA?? 🤔

    1) MBA does have fans (only the MacBook was passively cooled) - but was silent throughout my testing.
    2) Technically it uses custom 'NG' processors, a higher clocked version of Intels Ice-Lake Y Series of chips. It's still not as powerful as a 10th Gen U Series CPU though. 👍

    Ahoy, Tech Chap, I'm considering getting this Macbook Air. So far, from other and your review, it seems it would be a worthy buy and it's got a good no. of points in its favor. I'm happy with my Dell laptop running Windows, but I really like the Macbook look, feel, and style, and I'm highly interested in trying the OS. Just a question, one or more other reviews mentioned this laptop making noise/whirring/buzzing when stressed. Did you experience anything of this nature? Any other negatives similar to this? Thanks!

    hi, sir pls tell me which model I should go with as my basic requirements are movies(Netflix/prime), web browsing, social media apps & a little bit of office-related works like word, excel, and testing field like java automation (selenium). I don't need to do any video editing or to run heavy apps like the android studio.

    is the i3 with 10th gen can give the performance close to the 8th gen of i5(MAC 2019), or there is a huge diff.?? Should I opt for the 2020 model or the 2019 model?? I want MAC for at least 5-6 years

    it legit the greatest value on the market right now. i can buy a fully specced one with base ssd (512gb) for $2.5k in australia, like unless your, doing music production or high end video editing, you genuinly shoud not but the 13 inch pro or 16inch pro

    Finally have the money to purchase a macbook for my postgrad course yes! My question is where is the best to buy from in the UK, with consideration to warranties? I.e John Lewis, curry's pc World or direct from apple where I can get a keyworker discount? I ask this because I am such an ameteur when it comes to tech, I need some advice! What services are worth paying out for? Is it worth paying extra for warranty? Any advice would be great thank youuuu

    Been using WIntel laptops for the longest time. Recently bought a 2010 MBA 11 inch. I absolutely love it despite the "inferior specs". Please note, it is 2020 today and my MBA 2010 is extremely usable, the OS isn't "laggy" unlike my problems with Windows everytime I upgrade the OS. In short, this is a machine that you can use for a very very very long time. I would also like to note the poor builds and failure rates of WIntel laptops vs the MB's. I'm sure MB's aren't perfect but I can see they are way better than their WIntel equivalents and more. Oh and did I mention that I get them much cheaper 2nd hand. My next machine is definitely a Macbook.

    I have a 13 inch LG Gram that's Windows 10 based and just ordered this Gold 13 inch Air to go with it. I like both operating systems. My LG has i7 CORE 16GB RAM 256 GB storage and I ordered those exact specs to make the Air a performance hero. It seems like that's the right combination of features for laptop happiness. Looking forward to compare the experience between the two.

    Loved this preview, Tech Chap never fails to grab our attention with his honesty. This is definitely worth a shot, especially if money is the issue at present & you’re not editing or designing. Seriously thinking about this or the iMac 27”, caught in No Man’s Land at present but leaning more to this for versatility.
