Create, schedule and publish your posts with Canva. Canva have started rolling out their inbuilt content planner where you can schedule your posts to different platforms with a visual calendar view. Note that it looks a little different from what the beta version showed in Canva 2.0. I hope that means more changes are to come.

You can now create, schedule and publish your social media posts through Canva - this could be a game changer.
The functionality is available to Canva pro or enterprise subscriptions.
If you don’t have Canva pro you can get it at this link and I’ll put it in the description as well.
The posting is initially available for Facebook pages and groups, Pinterest, slack, twitter, linkedin and Tumblr. Instagram is not currently available but I understand it is in the pipeline.
So let’s have a look. When you log in to Canva you will get a message announcing the new feature.
The features is available on the side menu - Content Planner. In the calendar you can add a new post to a day by clicking on the plus sign, and then either choosing to create a completely new design or use one that you have already created. I’ll start off with one that I created earlier.
The choose design option will show my recent designs or I can look at all (and look in my folders), or search for a design name.
The design will show on the left and it will default in a posting time in one hour from the current time for the scheduled time. I can click on the 3 dots to access the place to change the date and time.
We then chose the platform to which we want to schedule the post. So far it only appears to be able to do one at a time.
The options will display and you choose the one you want. They may display if you have already connected your accounts or you choose add to connect a different one.
I’ll choose Pinterest and connect my account. If you are logged in to your Pinterest account it will bring it up initially but you can log out and chose another one and then press the give access button
It will then show all the Pinterest boards in that account and you chose the one to which you will be posting.
And then add a description with your hashtags. Now I did run into a problem when I tried to schedule. It might have been an issue on my connection at the time but I suspect that we need to enter titles for pinterest. So I’ll be interested to see if a new field appears in an update. You should then be able to just press schedule the post button.
I’ll just run through a couple of the other connections. If I choose Facebook pages, and choose connect Facebook. I’m logged in already to Facebook, so it will check with me if that is what I want and I could change to another one if necessary. It will show all of my Facebook pages, and I can choose which ones I will connect to Canva by checking the tick boxes and pressing next. It allows me to chose some security options that I will allow for Canva and then I press OK.
Back in the scheduling it lists those pages I’ve made available through the connection so I can chose the one I want.
You can then see your scheduled post on the calendar and can click on it to make changes before it is posted. And if you have a number scheduled on a day it shrinks them up. I’ll be interested to see how it shrinks when I have a high number but perhaps a scroll will come into play.
Another thing to note is that at this initial stage any animations and videos seem to be posting just as an image. There might be some indicator that I am missing, if not I hope that change will be done in the not so distant future. You also seem to be able to post multiple images quite easily if they are just pages in the same design. However, I haven’t tested that at this stage.
Now we initially chose a design I had already, if instead I had chosen to create a new one it would take me to the normal edit screen but now you have a new option when your design is ready. Go to the Download arrow option and choose show more, then scroll down to Schedule. Chose the date and time. Then chose the destination platform - e.g. Facebook page and enter your description and hashtags and press schedule post.

ردحذفThanks for the video it was very well done. The pinterest scheduler is kind of useless as far as I can tell from trying it. I wasn't able to add a url to my website/article. Not sure who is out there making pinterest pins for the fun of it without needing to link them to a post and optimize for seo 😬. Hopefully it will improve over time but some of the scheduling features feel like they were made by a developer who has never even used the platform.
ردحذفHi, I can see that Canva have now added the IG platform to content planner! Specifically for IG Business accounts though. However, I'm struggling to post to both Facebook page and IG account. The content planner seems to only allow to post to either one or the other!? Do you know if I am doing anything wrong?
ردحذفYeah. Without the ability to schedule more than one platform at a time, this is useless with Buffer etc. Not to mention videos posting as images. Get those two things fixed & I’m all in.

ردحذفHi, thanks for the great video, however when I try to schedule a post on my FB page it says it is already connected to another account in canva but I don't have any other account, I checked and deactivated it and Canva does not even show on my profile in apps. ردحذفThe day I was about to drop my canvas subscription this released. I am going to hold onto it for a few more months and really hope they add the multiple platform posting option. For me, I want the same image posted on all my platforms and right now that is not possible. Once an image is scheduled it can not be scheduled for another platform I would need to recreate the image. So for now I am stuck using both Hootsuite and Canva. Hopefully, soon it will just be Canva. So much easier if I can do everything in one place.

I keep going to Canva when I need it, and unscubscribe when I’m done. But now that I’m doing most of my work on it, I think I’ll hold on to it for a few more months. I love that I started with this website when it was just starting, and seeing its development is really amazing.

ردحذفI could not wait to use the scheduler. However, I thought I was doing something wrong because I could not get it to schedule for my timeline. I see now that it only does the pages and groups for Facebook.
ردحذفHere is my issue. Each platform I use different formats as in the design however one at 1080x1080, another at 1080x1920, 540x810, 1024x512 since each platform is different. So, how do we go and save them in one click?
ردحذفIs there a "preview" option to see how it looks before you schedule to post? That is a feature I use in FB a lot to see how it looks on a computer vs mobile and I can make tweaks before scheduling.
ردحذفThank you! This is good! However, what if all my designs (A,B,C) are in a folder x and one document only- post a, post, post c and I want to schedule post a on Monday and post b on Tuesday? This doesn't work apparently. I get a notification saying that folder x is currently scheduled to Monday and cannot be scheduled again! Am I making any mistake?
